French Week 1

In French this week I was learning how to greet each other in French. Here is a conversation in English where two greet each other and I translated it into French.

English
Roller: Hello Mimi
Mimi: Hello Roller
Roller: How are you?
Mimi: I’m ok, how are you?
Roller: I’m good.

French
Roller: Bonjour Mimi
Mimi: Bonjour Roller
Roller: Ça va?
Mimi: Comme ci, comme Ça, Ça va?
Roller: Ça va bien

In the Forest

Aaron glanced across at Zane and noticed the expression on his face. He knew that Zane was scared. The guides cheek that they had all of their gear. They looked into the pitch black forest.

One-by-One six students walk in the forest. When suddenly they heard hoot...hoot...hoot Aron and Zane turned around in fright. To their surprise it was a harmless owl. So they continued on.  

Thirty minutes later the guides stopped. There was a flight of stairs. They were all silent. Hoot...Hoot...Hoot. The sound was louder than ever. One-by-One they started to climb the stairs.

When they reached the top they looked. They all saw the beauty of the forest. They saw every inch of the forest. They were happy that they made it all the way to the top of the forest.

Basketball

Yes! This is going to be fun!

Room 7 went to the court. We saw a man there he was holding a ball. The man told us to line up on the yellow line. The man said he was “Coach Blue” We were in four teams at first. But the last two people of each team had to make another line. Now there was five teams. At first I was with Eneasi, Maxine, and Zephaniah.

Coach Blue taught us how to dribble the ball. He told us we can only dribble with one hand. That is the rules in basketball. He was telling us to bend our knees and stick your bottoms out. I thought that was silly but it helped a lot. So I went first. We could have chosen any hand. I used my left hand because I’m left handed. So I dribbled the ball as fast as I can. I was totally awesome. But it was hard for me to turn around and go back. I tried to bounce the ball to Asi as I came closer to him. Asi started to dribble the ball. I went to the back of the line. After that game we only did one hand. And it was the right hand first. Then the left hand. I swapped teams on the last game. We had to flip over the cones. It was fun. I flipped the cone with ease. Conclusion it was AWESOME. I can’t wait till next time!

Mothers Day

My mum is very special to me. My mum is like food to me. I love to eat food. If I love to eat I’ll love my mum. When I come home there is a hot plate of food for me to eat. She always protects me and my sister. My mum raised me and feed me. She tells the funniest stories ever! She said when I was a baby and saw yogurt I would hold my breath and my dad would start blowing in my mouth! My mum is very nice and tries to make me and my sister happy and safe.

Rona and the Moon

Long ago in New Zealand there was a girl named Rona. It was night and she was thirsty. She looked into the water jar. “Oh no! No water!” So she had to go to the well. She was walking to the well when suddenly... the moon came out. “Thank goodness, I’m nearly at the forest. Rona had the water when the moon disappeared. She dropped the water because she bumped into a tea tree. So she started to curse at the moon. “You %@#*@#$ moon! You can’t do $#*&! SO &*^@ YOU!” The moon came out. “Why have you woken me?!?!” The moon was angry. Rona was still cursing the moon. “You shall be taken away!” Rona finally realised. She started to beg for forgiveness. The moon got more furious at Rona. So the moon began to suck her up. Rona tried to grab a Tea Tree. But the tree got sucked up with her.

Legend says that Rona is still up there. When there is a full moon look closely at it and you’ll see Rona with the tree.

Mathematical update

Hey! I'm here to talk about my maths. So I'm going to tell you about it! I learnt about tidy numbers. I learnt how to subtract and add. It was pretty tricky. But luckily I had help from Lavnia. 
For an example:
23-47=? I'll +3 to 23 & 47 and now they'll be 25-50 it will be easier to take away. Because half of 50 is 25, 25 will be the answer.
See that's how I will figure the subtraction. Now the addition
Example:
24+ 58=? I'll take away 2 from the 24 and that'll make it 22 and the 58 will be 60. 20+60=80. 80+2=82. The answer is 82!
